Ever-active Woodrow Wilson High School alumni Kyle Rains today sent word of a charm bracelet that turned up at a local pawn shop. The owner of the shop, a gentleman named Arch Whitman, noticed the heavy themes of Woodrow among the charms, and he wants to make sure the keepsake makes it back to its owner.
"Hello, I am a pawnbroker in the city of Dallas, and I have come across a charm bracelet with nine charms. Eight of the charms have something to do with Woodrow Wilson High School from 1966 to 1970.
"I am trying to get this charm bracelet back to the person to whom it may have belonged. I am suspecting that it may have been stolen. At any rate I am a 1972 high school graduate, and I know how important these items can be to some of us. My class ring, graduation certificate, and my medals and battalion crest from my armed services days were stolen from me in 1987.
"One of the charms has '1970 W.W.W. Senior President' engraved on it. Another one of the charms has the date of a birth attended by Dr. Blum at Baylor Hospital, 6th of June, 1968. If you can call me at (214) 398-5230 or (469) 358-6023 with some idea of who to contact or who was the class president of 1970, I would appreciate the information. Thank you, Arch Whitman"
Whitman deserves nothing but credit for making an effort most people would shrug off without a thought. Good man.
