Julie Frieling, Parent’s Association president, presented Ms. Judy with a “Book of Love” that was filled with pictures, stories, and personal drawings from all of The Learning Tree families during the Learning Tree Graduation 2009.
In late May, 17 students from The Learning Tree graduated from the primer class. Just as children have done for 40 years prior to that day, 5- and 6-year-old students now head to area public and private school first-grade and kindergarten programs.
Nurtured and enlightened, the children graduating from Judy Allen’s program have received something special.
Allen started The Learning Tree School in 1969 and offers a preschool and primer programs that teach children about themselves and the diverse world they live in.
Allen, a Little Forest Hills resident, is highly regarded for the successful program she created and oversees.
As the pomp and circumstance of this year’s graduation came near to a close, Julie Frieling, Parent’s Association president, presented Ms. Judy with a “Book of Love” that was filled with pictures, stories, and personal drawings from all of The Learning Tree families.
Frieling also read aloud a poem that she wrote for Ms. Judy, but whose words could have come from any of the children or families of The Learning Tree School. The first stanza poem went like this:
