"From outta nowhere" the LECPTA announces its home tour plans.
The Lakewood Early Childhood PTA used the annual neighborhood Fourth of July Parade as a stage to reveal the group’s plans for the 33rd annual Lakewood Home Festival.
The LECPTA float carried the theme “BushLakewood Caddyshack: Gopher the Fun, Gopher the Schools” along the parade route as a subtle way of telling supporters the theme plays off the comedy classic.
The home tour and festival, which benefits Lakewood Elementary, J.L. Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School, runs Nov. 13-15.
Group members Betsy Lambert, Blis Freeman, Brooke Botsch, Lori Walker, Lisa Nelson, Paul Manak, Meredith Manak. Kristie Giles, Maria Hasbany, and Dabney Jungerman supplied the props and built the float, which won first place in the Judges’ Choice award category. Paul Manak won second place for his costume as Carl from the movie, so “don’t nobody worry ‘bout” them.
