The Blue Knights
Wildcat-Ram Stadium at Lake Highlands High School comes alive tomorrow and Friday nights with the spirited, spectacular performances of 22 drum and bugle corps from across the United States.
The shows are part of the 33rd annual DCI Dallas, presented by North Texas Festival of Drums and Bugles.
The two-night series features the able assistance of about 200 LH parents and students who volunteer with the Lake Highlands Area Band Club, the local host organization.
Three LHHS band members — Jordan Brooks, a senior during the 2009-10 school year, and graduates Bayo Ajibade and Brittany Burkhalter — perform with the Blue Knights, out of Denver.
The performances begin at 7 p.m. July 16 and 17. Go. You will be entertained, and quite probably delighted.

If you've never been to one of these events, you owe it to yourself. Great for the whole family. Hugely entertaining, even if you're not a band nerd like I am.
My particular favorite is the drum line. They're always coming up with new and flashier routines to best the other guy. Amazing musicianship and showmanship.
And for those that don't realize it, right here in Lake Highlands, we're hosting corps from all over the country.
Be there.
