Simone Novorr and Pete Sessions
Lakehill Preparatory School senior Simone Novorr, along with 11 other students, recently received high praise from a pair of U.S. congressmen and a local dignitary.
U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions, R-Dallas, and Today Foundation President Gary Griffith were joined by Congressman Louie Gohmert, R-Tyler, to congratulate Novorr and her peers who completed participation in the Today Foundation’s Texas Leadership Forum.
Hosted by Sessions and Gohmert, the Texas Leadership Forum, which included a conference in Washington, D.C., provided qualified students from select Dallas and Tyler area high schools with an inside view of national government operations and public policy debates.
“The Texas Leadership Forum is about engaging young minds to consider, challenge, and thoughtfully articulate the public policy debates facing our government as they develop their leadership skills for service in the future,” said Sessions, who is the honorary chair of TLF.
“These students have proven their commitment to learning and contributing to their communities, and the opportunity to see Washington firsthand will aide them in future goals of civic responsibility and leadership.”
