The new Alice and Erle Nye Family Environmental Science Center is one of only five LEED Silver Certified buildings in Dallas.
Lakehill Preparatory School takes a big step into the world of environmental conservation next week when it dedicates the LEED Silver Certified Alice and Erle Nye Family Environmental Science Center.
The dedication takes place at 10 a.m. Sept. 10 at the Roger L. Perry Campus.
The center promotes the study of the natural environment. The facility houses three laboratory classrooms as well as a Great Hall that will be used as a gathering space for the school community.
With more than 40 acres of undeveloped land to explore, Lakehill students will have the opportunity to experience nature in an untouched environment.
LEED certification, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design as established by the U.S. Green Building Council, designates environmentally sustainable construction.
