Long Math Team Competes at State

Budding mathematicians and scientists from J.L. Long Middle School will arrive in San Antonio this weekend to take on other similarly gifted students from across the state in the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association State Competition.

This year's Long team spent part of the school year competing in local math and science contests at area schools. They've honed their skills in drills such as Number Sense, Calculator, General Math, and Science, and have cleared three state-qualifying competitions.

Now, it's off to the big show where multiple Buccaneers will go up against the state's best.
