More than 600 fans and devotees of yoga and Eastern chant music attended a special concert put on by Deva Premal and Miten, two of the pre-eminent musicians of the genre, Sept. 17 at Lakewood Theater.

Earth Rhythms, a nonprofit group born of the volunteers who put together the annual Winter SolstiCelebration, promoted the show and brought the duo, along with special guest Manose, to Lakewood. According to Amy Martin, concert promoter, East Dallas was the only place for the show in the city.

Martin, who hoped to make a regular event of the alternative form of musical concert, deemed the evening a success and already has started plans for the next show.End of story
