The two casts of "The Secret Garden," the 2009 spring musical at Woodrow Wilson High School, accommodate all the talented graduating seniors.
John Beaird has directed theater at Woodrow Wilson High School for the last six years and he now helms “The Secret Garden,” which opens at 7:30 p.m. April 16.
Why this particular show?
“This musical has always been one of my favorites,” he said. “When I saw it on Broadway in 1993, it had a profound effect on me. It is a story of great hope and family. It makes you feel good.”
Beaird tucked the show in the back of his mind and was on the lookout for a cast that could do it justice.
“This year, it all came together. We have so many strong performers that we had to double-cast some of the major roles.”
