Lakewood has several ways to recognize good student behavior, including ACE student and Super Stallions. ACE Student is each Friday when the teacher of each class picks one student to be called on the announcements to go to the office and get a prize. This is known as ACE Student which stands for A+ Character Everyday. By the end of the year most all of the students will have been ACE at least one time. Students earn this award by following the Character Counts word of the week. (If the teacher doesn't forget to nominate someone!)
Another way for students to get recognized is Super Stallions. This takes place every last Thursday of each Six Weeks. A letter is mailed to their parents saying their child has won the award. The parents may come to school that morning to celebrate the victory. Unfortunately not all of the students in the school can get Super Stallion. It is quite an honor to receive it. A photo is taken of all the students from each grade holding their Super Stallion certificates. The photos of the Super Stallions are displayed until the next Super Stallion Reception.
The students at Lakewood do a great job of remembering to make good choices when it comes to character and it is nice that is it recognized with ACE and Super Stallions.
