Burglars broke into the Dallas Arboretum late last night or early this morning and stole thousands of dollars of horticultural equipment.
The unknown suspects broke into the Garland Road entrance to the horticultural area and cut padlocks to get into a storage building some time between closing time at 5:30 p.m. yesterday and 5:30 a.m. this morning, Dallas police said.
Among the equipment stolen were five Toro lawn mowers priced at $1,300 each, a Kawasaki 3200 watt generator valued at $1,200, a welder worth $600, three chainsaws with a total value of $ 925, and a Husky air compressor priced at $400 for a total loss of $9,625.
Police said there are no suspects and no witnesses at this time.
