The White Rock area boasts one of the most dense concentrations of artists in the city, and the Henderson Art Project offers area artists the chance for public display and recognition along with a grand prize cash award.
The HAP recently lunched a call for artists to participate in the inaugural contest. Deadline for submissions rolls around Feb. 19, with seven first-round winners announced Feb. 26.
Entries will be judged by a panel of high-profile arts professionals — influential leaders in the art community, university professors, gallery owners, and city officials — which garners artists additional exposure.
Those seven qualifiers then have the opportunity to display their works on Henderson Avenue for two years — word, artwork should be made to withstand the elements and the public — and move on to a citywide people’s choice vote conducted online.
