We received an e-mail message from Lakewood Pet Watch about a female American pit bull terrier taken in by some neighbors who wanted to help.
The dog “showed up” at the rescuers’ door, according to the e-mail. They took her in and found her to be “sweet and well behaved.”
She’s described as butterscotch and white in color, and very thin — maybe 25-30 pounds — and she appears to have recently birthed a litter.
The rescuer said she’s extremely docile — pilling is not a problem — and overall displays a happy demeanor.
The photograph shows her wearing a color, provided by the rescuers, who live with three great Danes. She’s also reacted well when exposed to the incumbent dogs.
The family needs to find her at least a temporary foster home before leaving town.
E-mail the rescuer with interest in fostering this little girl or providing a permanent home.
