The city wants to award up to $10,000 to community-minded groups with plans to improve their neighborhoods.

The orientation workshops for Loving My Community commence at 9 a.m., Feb. 27, in auditorium L1FN at Dallas City Hall. Subsequent workshops take place at the same time, March 13 and 27.

The workshops are intended for at least one member of an applying neighborhood group seeking a grant. At least one member should attend at least one of the sessions.

The grant program provides money to execute or augment civic improvement projects. Organizations such as neighborhood or homeowners associations, PTAs, crime watch groups, and community garden volunteers are eligible for the funds.
