This little guy visited the patio at Café Lago restaurant, which, by the way, is closed today.
As I sat and watched the snow fall yesterday at about 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., steadily until I settled into watch the Dallas Stars game last night at 8:30, I wracked my brain trying to remember a time in Dallas when it snowed so much.

Guess who has school, guess who doesn't — Cistercian student Tim England, right, rejoices, while STA students Matthew and Christopher England prepare to trudge to school.
No wonder I couldn’t remember. Yesterday’s snowfall set a record for the area — 9.4 inches by 9 p.m., recorded at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport — topping the 7.8 inches recorded not at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in 1917.
The snow makes for some extraordinary sights, some recorded yesterday by Kate Mackley, our photo editor.
We asked then for readers to send in their photos of the rare “weather event,” and a few have obliged.
We’ll keep this collective up on the front page all day and add to it as more photos arrive.
